Slaraffenland joins The Akron/Family Big Band!
The ever colorful Slaraffenland will release their 3rd album “We’re on Your Side” on September 7th and following the release the band will be touring most of September in Denmark and North America. All dates can be seen below.
The American part of the tour will be special. Besides performing as Slaraffenland in their regular 5-piece formation, the band will also join The Akron/Family Big Band, which will consist of Akron/Family with Slaraffenland guest starring on brass, percussion and guitar. On earlier occasions The Dodos have been the extra spark in the The Akron/Family Big Band and now the time has come for Slaraffenland to add some spark to the beloved Akron/Family live show.
The two bands have enjoyed each others company and music since the SXSW Festival 2008, where Akron/Family spontaneously invited Slaraffenland to join them on stage for a rather unforgettable concert at EMO´s at the infamous festival. There have been talks about expanding the collaboration for shows on European soil, but nothing is confirmed so far.
